Kesäkuun uutisia

2012-06-25T17:26:01+03:00

Kesäkuu on kiivasta näyttelykautta. Ensimmäisenä viikonloppuna olin tuomarina Norjassa Drammenin näyttelyssä ja vein Norjaan mukanani Wolfheart His Royal Highness'in.

The hectic outdoor show season is going on on June. On the first weekend of June I was judging in Norway, at the Drammen int. show, and brought the youngster Wolfheart His Royal Highness with me. His new owner had come all the way from Tromsö, north of Norway, to collect him at the Oslo airport.

On the next weekend I was judging in Finland at Tuuri national show, but the Pajunen family was showing Wolfheart Absolute Zero at Salo. He was BOB and got his first CC there.

On the third weekend in June there was two international shows in Finland. We managed to take part in both. On Saturday we were showing at Helsinki, where the Italian judge Paolo Dondina was judging. Kaisa's Wolfheart Corolla was BOS and got her fifth CC and CACIB, too. However, she won't become Champion before she gets one more after her second birthday. Her brother Coope was 2nd among the dogs and got his third reserve CC in his third show. W. Xmas Gingerbread was 2nd among the bitches with reserve CACIB and our old lady Alley Cat third. Our breeder's group was placed third in the main ring.

On Sunday the 17th of June we headed to rainy Kotka in the southeastern Finland, where Tanya Ahlman-Stockmari judged the breed in pouring rain. Our dog W. Skyjacker was BOB with CACIB (his third) and Cooper was 2nd, with CC and reserve CACIB. Xmas Gingerbread was BOB with CACIB, while our other bitch was 2nd with CC and reserve CACIB. She became also Champion in her fifth show ever. Alley Cat was third and now Corolla was fourth. Our breeder's group was now placed even one step higher than the day before and was 2nd best in show.

Toukokuun meni kiireisenä joka viikko tuomaritehtävissä jossain päin Eurooppaa. Muutamat kasvatiti ehtivät kuitenkin käydä näyttelyissä. In the same show Marjana Arharova's young bitch Wolfheart Dressed To Party won the open class, got "excellent" and "CC quality" and was placed third among the bitches.

It has been along time since we had wire-haired puppies, but now we have a nice litter of Wires.

3.3. oli Suomen Kettuterrierit ry:n vuosikokous. Tulin valituksi jatkamaan puheenjohtajan tehtävissä. Seuraavana päivänä oli yhdistyksen Open Show Lohjalla.

The Fox Terrier Club of Finland had its annual general meeting on the 3rd of March. I was re-elcted as the chairperson of the club. On the following day we had Open Show with a very good entry, 40 Smooths and 19 Wires. It is a tradition, that the Open Show judge is not an officially qualified judge, but an experienced breeder. This time it was Mr. Jorma Suuronen, who has been breeding Wires for a long time and is also a judge of underground hunting trials. We had entered mainly youngsters to train them and to see how they behave, plus a couple of more experienced ones to support the club. It was good to see, that the dogs who have never been anywhere, were showing reasonably well and were not confused. Our unshown young dog Wolfheart East of Eden ended up as third best male, and Wolfheart Dick van Dyke fourth. Both of them won their classes. The same with the bitches, Ch W Xmas Gingerbread was third best bitch and Johanna Sjöberg's Ch W. Nuts And Bolts fourth. The latter was also 2nd best hunting dog in show. Our old lady Ch W. Alley Cat was Best Veteran in Show, and Tarja Hannukainen's dog Ch W. Smithereen was BOS veteran. There was also a vet to do official knee checks. We had the knees of six dogs checked, all of them were 0-0.

Sitten kävimme Birminghamissa Cruftsin näyttelyssä, mutta ilman koiria. Se oli kuvaus- ja juttumatka.
Then we went to Birmingham, to the Crufts show, but without dogs, to take photos and to write about it.

After Crufts we had a long drive to Norway, to the Harstad International show. We has Ch Wolfheart Skyjacker and Ch Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread with us. Both of them got CCs and CACIBs and became Norwegian Champions. Now they also took one step forward to become International Champions.

We have got some new puppies as well. It has been a long time since we had Wire puppies, but now W. Idaho Ida got four (2+2). They were born 22.3. Their sire is Wildwood Idefix, who descends from my very first Wire bitch Ch Black Spot Indora. The litter is also line-bred to Int Ch Malham's Salvestro, who stayed with us some years ago. A new Smooth litter was born a week later, on the 29th of March. Their parents are Ch W Skyjacker and W Wysiwyg (2 CCs). There are 3 boys and 2 girls. I also went to collect and bring home the puppies of FT Ch W Indicator and W Eleanor Rigby, who were born and raised with Laura Saksanen, co-owner of the parents. Both the bitch puppies left immediately for new homes, but the boys are looking for homes of their own. We hope these will grow to become hunting dogs. Laura had the eyes of the parents checked. There was a scar in one of Indicator's eyes, but the diagnose was that he was not born with it, so it is nothing hereditary.
