Olimme Lappeenrannan näyttelyssä pääsiäisenä 8.-9.4. Kaisa Åkermanin nuori narttu Wolfheart Corolla oli VSP saaden toisen serttinsä. Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread oli toiseksi paras narttu ja veteraanimme W. Alley Cat kolmanneksi paras narttu ja ROP-veteraani. Uroksissa W. Skyjacker oli toiseksi paras uros, ja nuori W. Cooper kolmas ensimmäisessä näyttelyssään saaden varasertin. Kasvattajaryhmämme sai kunniapalkinnon. Tuomarina oli Elena Ruskovaara, joka arvosteli kettuterriereitä ensimmäistä kertaa.

We were showing dogs at Easter at the Lappeenranta national all-breed show (2500 dogs) on the 8th and 9th of April. The young bitch Wolfheart Corolla was best bitch and got her second CC, while Ch W. Xmas Gingerbread was second and our old lady Ch W. Alley Cat third, she was also Best Veteran in Breed. the boys Ch W. Skyjacker was second best male and young W. Cooper in his first show third with res CC. Our breeder's group got price of honour. The judge was Mrs. Elena Ruskovaara, who made her debut as a Fox Terrier judge.

Lappeenrannassa ensiesiintymisen teki myös nuori karkeakarvainen kasvattimme Wolfheart Jack-o-Lantern, jonka omistaa Sari Autio. Se oli toiseksi paras uros saaden sertin. Paria viikkoa myöhemmin Sari matkusti sen kanssa näyttelymatkalle Romaniaan, ja siellä se sai kahdessa peräkkäisessä näyttelyssä juniorisertit ja on nyt Romanian juniorivalio.

The young Wire dog Wolfheart Jack-o-Lantern, owned by Sari Autio, made his debut at Lappeenranta with success. He got his first CC. Two weeks later Sari travelled with him to Romania, where they got junior CCs in two shows, and that makes him Romanian Junior Champion.




Olimme Vaasan kansainvälisessä näyttelyssä 14.-15.4. Oulussa Tiina Järvelän luona asuva nuori narttu Wolfheart Celica oli VSP saaden sertin ja CACIBin. Vaasassa oli yli 3000 koiraa, tuomarina terrierispesialisti Pirjo Hjelm. Celican veli Cooper sai toisessa näyttelyssään toisen varaserttinsä. Kaikki kasvattimme saivat arvosanan ERI, ja kasvattajaryhmämme sijoittui loppukilpailussa ollen BIS-4.

We were showing dogs again at Vaasa International Show on 14th and 15th of April. There were over 3000 dogs. The judge was well-known Terrier Specialist Mrs. Pirjo Hjelm. The young bitch Wolfheart Celica, who lives in Oulu with Tiina Järvelä, was best bitch and BOS and got CC and CACIB. Her brother Cooper got his second res. CC in his second show. All our dogs got "excellent" and our breeder's team was placed in the main ring finals as BIS-4.

3.3. oli Suomen Kettuterrierit ry:n vuosikokous. Tulin valituksi jatkamaan puheenjohtajan tehtävissä. Seuraavana päivänä oli yhdistyksen Open Show Lohjalla. Erittäin hyvä määrä, 40 sileäkarvaista ja 19 karkeakarvaista oli ilmoitettu. Tapana on, että open show'n tuomari ei ole "oikea" ulkomuototuomari, vaan kokenut kasvattaja. Tällä kertaa se oli Jorma Suuronen, joka on kasvattanut kauan karkeakarvaisia ja on myös luolakoetuomari. Meillä oli mukana enimmäkseen nuoria koiria harjoittelemassa näyttelykäyttäytymistä, ja kannatuksen vuoksi pari vähän kokeneempaakin. Oli hauska nähdä, että nuoret, kokemattomat koirat käyttäytyivät reippaasti. Saimme useita luokkavoittoja. Nuori uros Wolfheart East of Eden, joka ei ole ollut vielä koskaan näyttelyssä, oli lopulta kolmanneksi paras uros, ja hieman kokeneempi Wolfheart Dick van Dyke neljänneksi paras uros. Nartuissa Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread oli kolmanneksi paras narttu, ja Johanna Sjöbergin Wolfheart Nuts And Bolts neljäs. Se oli myös BIS-2 käyttökoira. Vanha rouva Wolfheart Alley Cat oli BIS-veteraani, ja Tarja Hannukaisen Wolfheart Smithereen VSP-veteraani. Oaikalla oli myös eläinlääkäri tekemässä virallisia polvitarkastuksia, ja kuuden koiramme polvet tarkastettiin. Kaikilla tulos oli 0-0.

The Fox Terrier Club of Finland had its annual general meeting on the 3rd of March. I was re-elcted as the chairperson of the club. On the following day we had Open Show with a very good entry, 40 Smooths and 19 Wires. It is a tradition, that the Open Show judge is not an officially qualified judge, but an experienced breeder. This time it was Mr. Jorma Suuronen, who has been breeding Wires for a long time and is also a judge of underground hunting trials. We had entered mainly youngsters to train them and to see how they behave, plus a couple of more experienced ones to support the club. It was good to see, that the dogs who have never been anywhere, were showing reasonably well and were not confused. Our unshown young dog Wolfheart East of Eden ended up as third best male, and Wolfheart Dick van Dyke fourth. Both of them won their classes. The same with the bitches, Ch W Xmas Gingerbread was third best bitch and Johanna Sjöberg's Ch W. Nuts And Bolts fourth. The latter was also 2nd best hunting dog in show. Our old lady Ch W. Alley Cat was Best Veteran in Show, and Tarja Hannukainen's dog Ch W. Smithereen was BOS veteran. There was also a vet to do official knee checks. We had the knees of six dogs checked, all of them were 0-0.

Sitten kävimme Birminghamissa Cruftsin näyttelyssä, mutta ilman koiria. Se oli kuvaus- ja juttumatka.
Then we went to Birmingham, to the Crufts show, but without dogs, to take photos and to write about it.

Cruftsin jällkeen lähdettiin pitkälle matkalle Norjaan Harstadin näyttelyyn. Mukanamme olivat Wolfheart Skyjacker ja Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread, jotka molemmat saivat sertit ja CACIBit ja tulivat Norjan valioiksi. Nyt ne ovat myös alskelta lähempänä kansainvälistä valionarvoa.

After Crufts we had a long drive to Norway, to the Harstad International show. We has Ch Wolfheart Skyjacker and Ch Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread with us. Both of them got CCs and CACIBs and became Norwegian Champions. Now they also took one step forward to become International Champions.

Meillä on myös uusia pentuja. Pitkästä aikaa kennelissämme on myös karkeakarvaisia pentuja, kun sijoitusnarttumme Wolfheart Idaho Ida sai neljä pentua 22.3. Pentujen isä on Wildwood Idefix, joka polveutuu suoraan kantanartustani Black Spot Indorasta.Samalla niissä on linjaus CIB Malham's Salvestroon, joka vieraili luonamme pari vuotta sitten.  Uusi sileäkarvainen pentue syntyi viikkoa myöhemmin, 29.3. Niiden vanhemmat ovat W. Skyjacker ja W. Wysiwyg. Kävin myös hakemassa W. Indicatorin ja W. Eleanor Rigdyn 5.2.syntyneet pennut kotiin, ne ovat kasvaneet sijoitusemäntä Laura Saksasen luona. Nartut tästä pentueesta lähtivät uusiin koteihin saman tien, mutta urospennuille pitäisi löytää omat kodit. Näistä voisi olettaa kehittyvän toimivia metsästyskoiria. Laura oli käyttänyt pentujen vanhemmat silmätarkastuksessa. Indyn silmästä löytynyt lievä samentuma sai diagnoosin: ei synnynnäinen, eli se johtuu vahingoittumisesta.

We have got some new puppies as well. It has been a long time since we had Wire puppies, but now W. Idaho Ida got four (2+2). They were born 22.3. Their sire is Wildwood Idefix, who descends from my very first Wire bitch Ch Black Spot Indora. The litter is also line-bred to Int Ch Malham's Salvestro, who stayed with us some years ago. A new Smooth litter was born a week later, on the 29th of March. Their parents are Ch W Skyjacker and W Wysiwyg (2 CCs). There are 3 boys and 2 girls. I also went to collect and  bring home the puppies of FT Ch W Indicator and W Eleanor Rigby, who were born and raised with Laura Saksanen, co-owner of the parents. Both the bitch puppies left immediately for new homes, but the boys are looking for homes of their own. We hope these will grow to become hunting dogs. Laura had the eyes of the parents checked. There was a scar in one of Indicator's eyes, but the diagnose was that he was not born with it, so it is nothing hereditary.

Kävimme Keuruun ryhmänäyttelyssä 4.2. Koiramme menestyivät hienosti. Nuori uroksemme Wolfheart Act of War oli paras uros saaden ensimmäisen serttinsä. Narttu Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread oli Rotunsa Paras saaden sertin, ja tuli näin myös muotovalioksi. Vanha rouva FI MVA Wolfheart Alley Cat teki ensiesiintymisensä veteraaniluokassa täytettyään kahdeksan vuotta, ja oli kolmanneksi paras narttu. Myöhemmin se oli vielä näyttelyn kolmanneksi paras veteraani. Laura Kantosalon nuori narttu Wolfheart Eliza Doolittle voitti sekin luokkansa saaden SA:n ja se oli neljänneksi paras narttu. Sileäkarvaisia oli ilmoitettu 18 kappaletta, ja kolmella kasvattajalla oli kasvattajaryhmä. Meidän ryhmämme voitti, ja siitä tuli myöhemmin vielä näyttelyn paras kasvattajaryhmä. Rodun tuomarina oli Juha Putkonen.

We were taking part in a Terrier Show at Keuruu, in the middle of Finland on Saturday, the 4th of February. Our dogs had a tremendous success. Our young dog Wolfheart Act of War was BOS and got his first CC. Our bitch Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread was BOB and got her qualifying CC. She is now Finnish Champion. Our old lady Ch Wolfheart Alley Cat made her debut as a veteran, and she was third best bitch, and later on also third best veteran in show. Laura Kantosalo's young bitch Wolfheart Eliza Doolittle won her class, too, and got "CC quality" and was fourth best bitch. Theere were 18 Smooth entered, and three breeders had a breeder's group. Ours won, and later on our team was also Best Breeder's Group in Show. The breed judge was Mr. Juha Putkonen.

Kävimme Turun Winter Dog Show'ssa koirien kanssa 21.-22.2012. Kettuterrierit arvostei Goran Gladic Serbiasta. Etenkin nuoret koiramme menestyivät hyvin. Sekä uros Wolfheart Dick van Dyke että narttu Wolfheart Corolla voittivat kumpikin junioriluokan ja saivat SA:n. Jälkimmäinen oli lopulta kolmanneksi paras narttu ja sai varasertin. Piia Helmisen valiouros Wolfheart Audacious oli PU-4. Kasvattajaryhmämme sai kunniapalkinnon.

 

Pitkästä aikaa toivomme saavamme karkeakarvaisia pentuja, sillä sijoitusnarttumme Wolfheart Idaho Ida on astutettu Wildwood Idefixillä. Tässä yhdistelmässä olemme koettaneet koota vanhoja linjojamme, ja samalla tulee linjaus meillä lainassa olleesseen hollantilaiseen urokseen KANS MVA Malham's Salvestroon.

We were showing dogs at the Turku Winter Dog Show 21.-22.1.2012. The Fox Terriers were judged by Mr. Goran Gladic from Serbia. Our youngsters were successful. Both the dog Wolfheart Dick van Dyke and the bitch Wolfheart Corolla won the junior classes and got "CC quality". The latter was third best bitch and got reserve CC. The Champion dog Wolfheart Audacious, owned by Piia Helminen, was 4th among the males. Our breeder's group got "prize of honour".

It has been quite a long time since we had Wire puppies, but now we hope to get some again. Wolfheart Idaho Ida has been mated to Wildwood Idefix. By this combination we are trying to collect our old bloodlines, and at the same time it is linebreeding to Dutch Int Ch Malham's Salvestro, who was staying with us a couple of years ago

Olimme Messukeskuksen näyttelyssä tuomareina, joten omat koiramme eivät voineet osallistua. Muutamia nuoria kasvattaejamme oli kuitenkin kilpailemassa. Parhaiten menestyi Kaisa Åkermanin narttu Wolfheart Corolla, joka sai Juniorivoittaja-11 tittelin.

Osallistuimme Tukhoman PMV-11 näyttelyyn. Molemmat koiramme, uros Wolfheart Skyjacker ja narttu Wolfheart Xmas Gingerbread saivat varasertit ja vara-CACIBit. Ruotsissa asuva kasvattimme S MVA Wolfheart Catnip, om. Ann Jönsson, sai narttujen CACIBin. Tuomarina oli Philip Greenway.

We were judging at the Helsinki Winner Show and the Finnish Winner Show on the 3rd and 4th of December, so our dogs couldn' t be shown there. However, some youngsters we have bred, could take part. Best did Kaisa Åkerman's young bitch Wolfheart Corolla, who got the Junior Winner -11 title.

A week later we were showing two of our Smooths at Stockholm, which was the Nordic Winner Show. The judge was Philip Greenway from UK. Both dogs did reasonable well and got reserve CCs and resrve CACIBs. The Champion bitch Wolfheart Catnip, who lives in Sweden with Ann Jönsson, got the bitch CACIB.
